How does Wobenzym enzyme therapy work?
In order for the excess of inflammatory messengers in the body to be intercepted, the enzymes must be absorbed into the body. This happens via the intestinal mucosa. After absorption, the enzymes bind to the alpha-2 macroglobulin found in the blood. This is a protein that is produced by special immune cells, the so-called macrophages, in the course of an immune response.
When the enzymes bind to the alpha-2 macroglobulin, its spatial structure changes and changes to its active form. As a result, the activated molecule is able to bind and remove excess cytokines. Wobenzym’s systematic enzyme therapy uses this mechanism to restore the balance between cytokines (pro-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory) and thus accelerate the healing process.
Enzymes used in inflammation do not suppress the inflammatory reaction, but support and accelerate the natural process and sequence of the immune and inflammatory reaction.
