Description
Iodine Wound Ointment STADA 100mg/g Ointment
Apply Iodine Wound Ointment STADA evenly to the damaged area once or several times a day. If necessary, a bandage can be applied afterwards. In the case of small wounds and injuries, the body sets its own repair mechanism in motion.
Wound healing is divided into 3 stages:
- Blood clotting: The wound is usually closed quickly, so that the scab prevents blood loss and the penetration of bacteria.
- Granulation: The healing process begins under the scab. A so-called granulation tissue is formed. At this stage, the wound may be tight and possibly itchy.
- New tissue formation: After phase 2, the new formation of the original tissue begins
Active ingredients: povidone-iodine.
Iodine is used bound to carriers for germ reduction (disinfection) and to support wound healing. Iodine is effective against a variety of pathogens, such as bacteria, viruses and fungi.
